2023 Special National Minimum Wage for SWS

On 20 June 2023, the Fair Work Commission issued its annual determination in relation to the Supported Wage System (SWS). The minimum weekly payment has been set at $102 effective from the first full pay period that starts on or after 1 July 2023. This increase will apply to modern awards with the SWS clauses, from that date.

For NPA Assessors, this applies to all new SWS Wage Assessment Agreements from 1 July 2023, where a minimum weekly SWS payment applies under the Award.

Award free employees’ minimum weekly payment, which is also $102, can be found in the National Minimum Wage Order, and is also effective from the first full pay period starting on or after 1 July 2023.

SWS employers, employees and assessors should ensure Wage Assessment Agreements from 1 July 2023 reflect the new minimum wage ($102 per week), if applicable.
