Responsibilities for workers’ compensation

By law, your organisation must cover all employees—including employees with disability— with workers’ compensation insurance. Workers’ compensation protects you and your employees in the event of a workplace-related injury or disease.

Employing a person with disability will not affect your workers’ compensation premiums (unless an employee is injured at work). When calculating workers’ compensation premiums, insurance companies do not consider whether or not an organisation employs people with disability.
