Benefits in taking on apprentices with disability

Have you considered creating apprenticeship roles for people with disability?

To help them reach their full potential as skilled workers, the Australian Government provides additional support to Australian Apprentices with eligible disability. This includes Disabled Australian Apprentice Wage Support (DAAWS) as well as financial assistance for tutorial, interpreter and mentor services for apprentices. DAAWS is also available to an organisation that employs an Australian Apprentice who becomes disabled during their apprenticeship or traineeship.

This assistance is in addition to financial support provided through the Employment Assistance Fund to purchase work-related modifications and services.

To find out more about DAAWS and other assistance, visit the Australian Apprenticeships website.
