We specialise in providing our customers with values-based, customised employment services.

STEPS was founded by a group of parents with a common vision of helping their children, who have a disability, to gain the skills to make informed decisions about their life, find work and be contributing members of their community.

We have 30 years of experience in the disability sector and we are strong advocates for disability within all the communities we work in.  We provide support in  employment, training, mental health, social inclusion and community involvement.

We are a specialist service who work with employers to come up with ‘supported solutions’ to your staffing needs by providing passionate and loyal team members who are a good fit for your business. We provide seamless, on the job support to you and your new staff member, for as long as you need it to ensure an easy transition.

We will take the time to learn about your industry & your organisation so we can inform and prepare our customers who are looking for work, and provide the skills and knowledge they need to start work.  We are able to support with advice and guidance on accessing wage assistance and training subsidies available from the Australian Government (we will do the paperwork for you!); the interview process (Why not hold your interviews from one of our local, friendly and professional offices?); ensuring you have all the information you need to support your new team member and ensure your new team member is ready for work from day one. This includes assistance with training, uniforms or equipment requirements

Our networks

STEPS Employment Solutions has established and maintained extensive networks and partnerships within the local community. These include Mental Health Services and other health professionals, schools, drug and alcohol rehabilitation services, training organisations; indigenous programs and services, multi-cultural services, Chamber of Commerce and other industry groups. About us

STEPS inception started in late 1989 when a small group of concerned parents from the Sunshine Coast recognised a need for a variety of employment options for their special needs children and other young people with an intellectual disability. They met to find a solution, sourced any available funding and in 1990 received Federal Government funding to establish a supported employment agency. STEPS has continued to grow and adapt to ever-changing environments and the rest, as they say, is history. Now with offices throughout Queensland, Northern Territory and Tasmania, STEPS is perhaps best known for its successful employment services, assisting people with barriers to find sustainable work within the open job market and training programs. STEPS staff are a mix of male and female from a variety of different backgrounds. Through core services of Employment and Training, we enable individuals and communities to take confident steps forward and create opportunities to help people towards independence. STEPS Group supports the Federal Government’s Social Inclusion priority of working to create equal and sustainable employment opportunities, and building understanding and support in the community. STEPS provides a valuable service to businesses in the pursuit of sustainable employment solutions and is committed to providing assistance and equipping disadvantaged job seekers to overcome barriers and find new hope in employment.
