JobAccess is a
free service providing help and workplace solutions for the employment of people with disability.
JobAccess is an initiative of the Australian Government’s 2005-06 Budget Welfare to Work package which aims to increase workforce participation for those with a capacity to work and includes better supports for employers considering employing people with disability.
The JobAccess Advisers are the team of friendly professionals who offer information and advice about the employment of people with disability. They also facilitate access to the Employment Assistance Fund.

Hours of operation
The JobAccess Advisers are available across Australia from Monday to Friday, 9 am to 7 pm Australian Eastern Standard time and Eastern Daylight Saving Time as applicable, except for Australian national public holidays.
Who can use JobAccess?
JobAccess is a free service for all Australians:
- employers and managers
- job seekers and workers with disability
- co-workers, family members or carers of people with disability
- Australian Government employment service providers and private recruitment firms.
Who are the JobAccess Advisers?
One of Australia’s major disability employment organisations, WorkFocus Australia, has provided the JobAccess telephone and online advice service since 2006. This service includes a variety of qualified health professionals and trained customer service advisors on-hand and available to assist.
WorkFocus Australia has more than 20 years experience delivering employment programs to participants with disability, injury or health conditions. It promotes the business case for disability employment and assists employers to identify and manage the complex barriers to sustainable employment faced by people with disability / mental health conditions.
Since 2006, the JobAccess team has exceeded expectations and has:
- assisted with over 65,000 enquiries in relation to disability employment
- processed 7,000 applications relating to Workplace Modifications and Auslan funding
- Liaised with over 4,500 individuals with disability
- Responded to over 4,500 employer enquiries
