Experience+, a suite of services designed to support mature age Australians who want to stay in the workforce commenced on 1 July 2010.
One of these services is on-the-job-support. If you are 50 years and over and you have a health condition, injury or disability which is placing your job at risk, you may be able to access tailored face-to-face support and training to help you keep your job.
On-the-job-support is delivered through a network of Disability Employment Services providers that specialise in assisting people with a health condition, injury and disability. An experienced provider will work with you to ensure you can continue working with with your existing employer.
On-the-job-support could include advice about job redesign, training to support job retention, comprehensive workplace assessment and free workplace modifications and special equipment.
On-the-job-support training is negotiated between the Disability Employment Services provider, employer and the employee. The training is intended to provide new skills to support immediate or longer term job retention and should be an accredited course at the Certificate 1 level or above delivered by a Registered Training Organisation.
If you are interested in applying for on-the-job-support, you can approach your local Disability Employment Services provider.
