Wages based on your productivity

If you are unable to find or keep a job at full wage rates due to the effect of disability on your workplace productivity, the Supported Wage System may be for you.

The Supported Wage System is a process that allows an employer to pay less than the award wage by matching your productivity with a fair wage.

With the Supported Wage System, eligible people with disability can access a reliable process of productivity based wage assessment to determine fair pay for fair work. The Australian Government funds qualified assessors to determine a worker’s productivity, with the resultant wage being paid by the employer.

If you are employed under the Supported Wage System provisions, your work productivity will need to be reviewed each 12 months. If your work productivity has improved, you may receive an increase in your wages. If your work productivity has decreased, your wages may also decrease.
