Aids and equipment services are available to enhance independence and improve the quality of life for people with disability.
Auslan interpreter booking and payment service
This service pays for you to effectively communicate with health professionals if you are Deaf and use Auslan (Australian Sign Language).
Commonwealth Carelink Centres
Commonwealth Carelink Centres provide a single contact point for free, confidential and up to date information on community, aged and disability services available locally, interstate or anywhere within Australia.
Day options or day programsDay care options or day programs provide support and meaningful day activities for adults with disability.
Independent living servicesIndependent living services focus on your ability to function at home and in the community.
Information and captioning servicesInformation, caption and translation services can assist with access to recreation information and captioned television news, videos and DVDs.
Postal concessions for the blind programThis program meets the postal charges for Braille, the Moon system of embossed reading and audio material sent to, or from, eligible people and or organisations.
Print disability services program
This program provides funding to organisations to produce printed material in alternative formats to ensure that people with print disability are able to participate in society.
Respite for carers programsThe Australian Government funds a number of programs to assist carers so that they can have short term breaks from their caring responsibilities.
