Latest research on employment assistance for people with mental illness

You can find out what the latest research is saying about employment assistance for people with mental illness.

The Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations has released a literature review of the latest research on employment assistance for people with mental illness. Based on research conducted by social research firm URBIS, the key aims of the literature review were to locate relevant research that describes different models of employment assistance and to identify what works when assisting people with mental illness into employment.

An electronic copy of the literature review is now available (please see related links).

The Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations was allocated $5 million over four years for research related to employment and mental illness as part of the Council of Australian Governments’ (COAG) National Action Plan on Mental Health 2006-2011. The aim of this research is to inform policy and program decisions that will help people with mental illness to find and retain employment. This literature review has been published as part of the COAG mental health research projects.
