Using the Workplace Adjustment Tool—searching by product or solution

These instructions demonstrate how to use the Workplace Adjustment Tool to search by product or solution.

Step 1

Locate the JobAccess web site by typing www.jobaccess.gov.au into the navigation bar of your web browser.

Step 2

You will be presented with the JobAccess home page. Select ‘Free expert help' which is located under the phone number, near the centre of the screen.

Step 3

You will be presented with the "Free expert help" page. Select "Workplace Adjustment Tool from the left hand navigation pane.

Step 4

This will present you with the Workplace Adjustment Tool.

Step 5

To begin your search, select what you would like to search for at Step 1 by selecting the appropriate button. Selecting 'Products or solutions' will allow you to search for a type of product or solution including links to suppliers in your state or territory. Ensure that the 'Products or solutions' button is selected to search for products or solutions.

Step 6

If you wish to search by 'Job requirements' see instructions for 'Using the Workplace Adjustment Tool—searching by job requirement'.

If you wish to search by 'Disability' see instructions for 'Using the Workplace Adjustment Tool—searching by disability'.

If searching by 'Suppliers' see instructions for 'Using the Workplace Adjustment Tool—searching by supplier'.

Step 7

At Step 2, choose how you would like to search.

Option 1 allows you to search by topic (drop down menus). Option 2 allows you to enter search words. Searching by topic (drop down menus) is a more specific search that will give one particular result. Searching by search word is a broader search that will give you a number of results to explore. It is useful if you don’t really know what you are looking for.

Step 8

If you choose to search by a search word, go to Step 11.

If you choose to search by topic (drop down menus), select a topic using the first drop down menu. For example, if you are looking for a telephone typewriter, select 'Office and call centre equipment'.

Step 9

Using the second drop down menu, select a sub-topic to refine your search. For example, if you are looking for a telephone typewriter, select 'Telecommunications'.

Step 10

After you have selected from both the drop down menu, select ‘Search’.

Step 11

JobAccess will take you to a page that describes the particular products or solutions available.

Step 12

Select the product or solution that interests you to find out more information and to find suppliers in your area.

Step 13

If you choose to search by Option 2, enter a search word. Select 'Search'. For example enter 'TTY' to find telephone typewriters.

Step 14

JobAccess will present the search results page. Select an item that interests you. If there is more than one page of results you can use the ‘Previous’ and 'Next' links to move between pages of search results.
