These instructions demonstrate how to use the Workplace Adjustment Tool to search for disabilities.
Step 1
Locate the JobAccess web site by typing www.jobaccess.gov.au into the navigation bar of your web browser.

Step 2
You will be presented with the JobAccess home page. Select ‘Free expert help' which is located under the phone number, near the centre of the screen.
Step 3
You will be presented with the "Free expert help" page. Select "Workplace Adjustment Tool" from the left hand navigation pane.

Step 4
This will present you with the Workplace Adjustment Tool.

Step 5
To begin your search, select what you would like to search for at Step 1 by selecting the appropriate button. Selecting 'Disability' will allow you to search for a type of disability and will present the adjustments and solutions available related to that type of disability. Ensure that the 'Disability' button is selected to search by disability.

Step 6
If you wish to search by 'Job requirements' see instructions for 'Using the Workplace Adjustment Tool—searching by job requirement'.
If you wish to search by 'Products or solutions' see instructions for 'Using the Workplace Adjustment Tool—searching by product or solution'.
If searching by 'Suppliers' see instructions for 'Using the Workplace Adjustment Tool—searching by supplier'.
Step 7
At Step 2, choose how you would like to search.
Option 1 allows you to search by topics (drop down menus). Option 2 allows you to enter search words. Searching by topic (drop down menus) is a more specific search that will give one particular result. Searching by search word is a broader search that will give you a number of results to explore. It is useful if you don’t really know what you are looking for.

Step 8
If you choose to search by a search word, go to Step 12.
If you choose to search by topic (drop down menus), select a topic using the first drop down menu. For example, select 'Physical' to search for a physical disability.

Step 9
Using the second drop down menu, select a sub-topic to refine your search. For example, if you are looking for solutions in the workplace to support a person with arthritis, select 'Arthritis'.

Step 10
After you have selected from both the drop down menus, select ‘Search’.

Step 11
JobAccess will take you to a page that describes the disability and presents solutions and adjustments available to support a person with that disability in the workplace. You can also find more specific information about related illnesses and conditions. Use the links on the page to explore the options available.

Step 12
Select the job requirement that interests you to find the products and solutions available including links to suppliers of these products or solutions in your state or territory.

Step 13
If you choose to search by Option 2, enter a search word. Select 'Search'. For example, type 'Arthritis' to look for information about arthritis.

Step 14
JobAccess will present the search results page. Select an item that interests you. If there is more than one page of results you can use the ‘Previous’ and 'Next' links to move between pages of search results.
