Wheelchair and scooter repair operators may offer either mobile or workshop repairs and service, however there is usually a call out fee for mobile work.
Repairers generally offer a range of services including:
- maintenance checks or servicing
- tyre or tube replacement
- upholstery and frame repairs or replacement
- cleaning
- rust-proofing
- spare parts
- wheelchair and scooter rechargeable battery testing or replacement (including battery chargers)
- repairing damage and wear such as suspension
- motor rebuild or replacement
- modification or customisation of wheelchairs and scooters.
Please note some repair services are brand specific, repairing or servicing particular brands only. Repairs are generally done on an hourly rate and a pick up/drop off fee may be applicable if it is not possible to drop off the required unit independently. Some wheelchair and scooter repair operators can organise loan chairs or scooters whilst repairs are being undertaken.
