Clocks, watches and timers with alternative prompting methods can assist people with various sensory losses to remain independent and function to their highest level by advising of the time or alerting them in a way that is appropriate for their sensory loss, such as, vibration for the deaf, talking or Braille for the blind.
Workplace solutions and adjustments
Clocks, watches and timers with alternative prompting mechanisms can perform a number of functions to assist people to be successful in the workplace such as:
- waking punctually for work
- assisting to remember and attend interviews, appointments and meetings
- assisting to manage time and task completion within the workplace
- taking appropriately timed rest or meal breaks
- punctually catch public transport if required
- timing of specific tasks within the workplace.
