Working with money

People who are blind or vision impaired often find it hard to identify the correct money when working with cash.

Workplace solutions and adjustments

There are products and solutions available that make working with money easier for people with blindness or vision impairment.

For people with low vision options may include:

• hand/stand magnifier
• optical magnifier
• lighting – task or alternative lighting
• headlamp

For people with no vision (individuals with low vision may find the following helpful also) options may include:

• money identifiers—talking
• coin sorters and counters—talking
• cash registers—talking
• money folding for identification
