There is help available to support the employment of people with disability and mental health condition in your organisation.
Funding is available for a broad range of workplace assistance and support services including, but not limited to, Deafness awareness training, mental health first aid training for employers, specialised support and training packages for people with mental illness and specific learning disorders.
While the majority of people with disability and mental health condition won't need any assistance, the Employment Assistance Fund aims to make accommodation employees with disability easier.
What is the Employment Assistance Fund?
The Employment Assistance Fund replaces the Workplace Modifications Scheme and the Auslan for Employment from 1 March 2010.
The Fund provides assistance to employers of people with disability and mental health condition by providing financial assistance to purchase a range of work related modifications and assistance. Assistance is available for people who are about to start a job or who are currently working, as well as those who require assistance to find and prepare for work.
