Spell checking software

When composing text based documents, spell checking software can check that spelling is appropriate and offer suggestions for change to improve accuracy.

Workplace solutions and adjustments

Word processing programs have spell and grammar checking software as standard, however they can be customised for individual needs such as; spelling mistakes being highlighted immediately or done once requested by the user.

For people working in specialised fields, specific spell checking software is available that works in conjunction with the existing spell check software once installed to assist with terminology accuracy. Some specialist dictionaries available include:

  • business and legal
  • medical, pharmaceutical, dental, veterinarian or bioscience
  • scientific, technical and engineering
  • humanities
  • multi-lingual or a range of individual languages
  • defence
  • geographical
  • botanical
  • slang
