Most word processing software programs have highlighting capabilities in the document toolbar which enable single letters, words or sections of a document to be highlighted in various colours.
Workplace solutions and adjustments
People with learning or visual processing difficulties may find it challenging to locate specific words or sections of text within a document. Options exist to either type the text in alternative colours to black or actually highlight over the text in a range of colours.
Colour choice can be beneficial if colour recognition poses difficulties. Some programs also allow for a quick find option for highlighted text which may be beneficial for efficient editing of documents.
