A Lazy-Susan carousel is a revolving tray on which items are stored either on a table, bench or within the fridge or cupboards. When the carousel is turned, items on all sides can be obtained without having to reach. Lazy-Susan carousels can be either single or multi level, have a non-slip surface and can have an optional lip to stop products falling off as it is spun. They can be made from wood, plastic, wire basket style or stainless steel and depending on the model can be fixed permanently in place or be portable between areas. A range of carousel sizes and support capacities are available.
Workplace solutions and adjustments
Lazy-Susan carousel’s allow individuals with reduced reaching capacity to access items independently from hard to reach areas such as deep shelving or cupboards. For people with reduced reach capacities working in kitchen environments, Lazy-Susan carousels may be useful to enable independent access to all necessary items used for cooking and food preparation and therefore potentially increase productivity.
