Key turners

Key turners are ideal for people with limited hand strength or coordination, as they provide increased leverage to turn a key with a comfortable grip. They are often made from heavy-duty plastic and are larger than the key size to allow for a stronger grip.

Workplace solutions and adjustments

Underlying causes of limited hand strength or coordination difficulties include arthritis, acquired brain injury, upper limb conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome and tendonitis, and paraplegia or neuromuscular diseases such as multiple sclerosis.

For people with limited hand strength and coordination, using keys within the workplace to open up the building, offices or storage rooms, may require the use of a key turner added onto their key to enable independent access.
