Gardening and landscaping tools and equipment

Adapted or specifically designed gardening and landscaping tools are available for people with disability working in landscaping or horticultural roles. These tools enable the person to carry out their work role independently. 

Workplace solutions and adjustments

For people with disability working in landscaping or construction type work there are many strategies and equipment that can be put into place to enable them to carry out their tasks independently. Examples of equipment include:

Modifications to everyday gardening equipment may also be appropriate to assist people with disability carry out their gardening or landscaping role such as:

  • applying foam to tool handles to improve grip and reduce vibration
  • using gloves with sticky palms to assist with gripping
  • using lightweight tools.
