Fencing systems can be used within workplaces to restrict entry to dangerous or specific areas of the worksite or to particular equipment. Fencing can be permanent or temporary and reduce the risk that employees or others will enter an unsafe area without the proper training and support.
Temporary fencing can generally be hired in various heights and widths depending on its purpose and may come in plastic bollard style, wire fencing, barricade style, glass, plastic or colourbond panel style. When choosing an appropriate temporary fence consideration needs to be given to the method of fixation, level of risk at the site, the need for one or multiple gate access and whether the fencing is required for crowd control or to restrict entry.
Workplace solutions and adjustments
For people that may have difficulty understanding or remembering that particular machinery or areas of the workplace are unsafe, installation of a barrier such as fencing, bollards or a barricade may assist in restricting access to the areas and therefore address any safety concerns. These barriers may only be required temporarily until appropriate training has been completed or may be needed permanently.
