Braille labels

Braille labels can be created using specialised Braille software and then printed out using a Braille printer or embosser. A specialised hand held labeller is also available which embosses Braille directly onto adhesive tape. The labels can then be stuck on objects to help people with vision impairments to identify everyday objects within the workplace.

Workplace solutions and adjustments

Braille labels can be printed on transparent sticky A4 sheets which are versatile and easy to use and can be printed on a specialised Braille printer or cut to size prior to printing.  As some examples, Braille labels can be placed on:

  • the spines of books or journals with title and content details
  • documents to assist with identification especially between braille and non- braille users
  • computer keyboards to assist with identifying the specific keys
  • regularly used work documents or training materials.
